geebiz privacy policy
Here at geebiz we take our user privacy very seriously. We hate it when we sign up for an innocuous-looking website and get bombarded with spam from apparently unrelated businesses.
Our terms of use broadly state what will and will not happen with the information you submit, but to expand a little:
- We collect the bare minimum of information we need in order to be able to identify you and verify your existence as a real human being. We don't need your home address or telephone number in order to run this service, so we don't ask for them.
- If you choose to publish more information on your webpage (and that's probably a good idea if you want customers to find you) that's your call, not ours. We do not include any information on your webpage that you do not have complete control over.
- We will not pass on (let alone sell) any information about you to anyone at all. The only exception to this would be in the event that we are legally obliged to in order to comply with law-enforcement or any future regulatory requirements.
- By using PayPal to handle payments on geebiz, we avoid having to handle any financial information relating to our members. Once again, we don't need your card or banking details, so we don't ask for them and we certainly don't store them. If anyone claiming to be from geebiz asks you for card or banking details, please let us know immediately.
- Our database is securely held on a server to which we have exclusive administrational access, and which is regularly backed up. Everyone's heard horror stories about database hacking and theft. No business can 100% guarantee immunity from risks, but by minimising the amount of personal information we store, there's a lot less at stake.
- We use a browser session cookie to manage your visit to the main geebiz website. This basically allows us to look after you while you're logged in and make sure only you can access your information. When you log out or leave the website, the cookie expires. Nothing is retained in between visits using cookies. If you choose to allow your browser to remember your password, that's your decision!
